           It is often felt by parents of persons with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation and Multiple Disabilities, that they require life long care for their wards. Care givers in the families have often reported that, with the progress in age of disabled person, providing care becomes more stressful, more demanding, labour intensive, costly and exhaustive. That is why, the families with persons having disabilities go through tremendous physical, psychological and financial strain throughout their life.

           Respite Care Service is being started for the welfare of families having persons with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation and Multiple Disabilities with funding support of National Trust (NT) Relief and Reach Scheme, New Delhi and technical guidance from faculty, National Institute for the Mentally Handicapped, Secunderabad.

  • Respite Care Service is meant for the families having children with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation and Multiple Disabilities.
  • In this service both the Parents and Children are benefited simultaneously child benefits through Respite Care by receiving quality care in the absence of the family members, where the dignity of the child is respected and protected. In Respite Care Service child is provided with a temporary substitute for home facility, with age appropriate exposure in socialization and recreational activities. Similarly a family is benefited by taking a short break, temporary relief from daily routine.
    Parents can avail this service based on their needs, in given circumstances which demands a temporary accommodation and security to the listed categories of the disabled population away from home and parents/guardians.
    The circumstances may be in situation like...
    • Attending functions
    • Official/ occasional Tours (not more than 15 days)
    • Crisis in the family due to death, transfer, sudden illness of family members etc.
